PROMATIS and Oracle NetSuite show new ways for start-ups at the Business Breakfast

May 20, 2019

Vienna, May 20, 2019 – Start-ups are in vogue – not only in “hype cities” like Berlin or Vienna, but throughout Germany, Europe and worldwide. Often (in x % of the cases), the dream sadly remains just a dream. Many studies exist on this subject (reference study). When it comes to young enterprises, the marketing of their ideas, products or services is at the beginning of their existence. In doing so, the effects of the next steps are rarely considered at an early stage. Everything seems so simple, global expansion requires investors and a brilliant idea. But is that all?

The first “GROW BEYOND Business Breakfast” on May 15 2019 in Vienna, which PROMATIS organized together with their partner Oracle NetSuite, dealt with this situation. This well-attended event was characterized by inspiring and captivating lectures in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.

Focused on the situation of the start-ups, the presentations revolved around three pillars:

  • Foundation – product idea, funding
  • Processes
  • Business applications / ERP systems

At the beginning of a foundation, there is always a brilliant idea that needs to be consolidated economically so it can eventually establish itself successfully on the market. Robert Wietrzyk (Lead Equities) presented this topic in his keynote speech.

Franziska von Patow (Oracle NetSuite) pointed out the advantages of implementing an ERP system in time to be prepared for growth, digitization and expansion.

Dr. Thomas Karle of the PROMATIS Group explained in an impressive presentation that processes are an essential element of a company and thus need to be lived agilely.

With her lecture title “Wachstum, Digitalisierung & Expansion – Cloud Technologie als Enabler für Wachstumsunternehmen“ (engl. ”Growth, Digitization & Expansion – Cloud Technology as Enabler for Growth Companies”), Franziska von Patow provided interesting approaches to the predestination of the use of NetSuite in start-ups. In this regard particularly, NetSuite uses a “Financials First” approach in which the ERP foundation is first laid before various features are added.

“This type of event precisely addressed our target group. Compact knowledge with a high proportion of practice-oriented information and feasible solution concepts that appealed to the participants and made the Business Breakfast a great experience for everyone”, Clemens Armbruster, Managing Director of PROMATIS GmbH Austria, says.
